This is a very narrow, long Gothic style Nave built with stone, granite and marble. Speech intelligibility was very poor at the initial design phase. The solution here was a centrally located loudspeaker array, installed 39 feet above the Communion Rail. The array consists of a 12" JBL low frequency enclosure with (1) JBL, 2" throat, long-throw HF horn and (1) JBL, 2" throat, short throw HF horn. All of the loudspeakers are mounted in a liner fashion. The narrow Nave and physical characteristics of the ceiling's beam structure made the single "point-source" array the best overall solution to the intelligibility issues within this space.
