Note that this model doesn't contain a lot of interior detail. In this case it wasn't necessary, because the properties of the virtual materials were derived from measurements of the actual room, so that absorbing and scattering characteristics of details such as windows and molding were taken into account by the measurements. The model helps with understanding how the complex geometry of the room, and the properties of its surfaces, will affect sound.

Notice how the room enhances the sound of the violin. Yet the same room interferes with understanding speech. This is one of those fundamental conflicts that must be considered in the design of worship spaces.
