Mt. Gretna Chautauqua Playhouse (Mt. Gretna, PA)
This 700 seat theatre resembles the 100 year old, beloved Chautauqua Playhouse, which collapsed under the snow. It is used for drama, lectures and chamber music, with chamber music being the principle use.
The chamber music series which is held here each summer is one of the best in the country.
The architect is Geho Architects.

"Chamber music at the new Mt. Gretna Playhouse is served well by the
natural acoustic within which one hears it. The priority in my own
listening experience is balance. I would go so far as to say that balance
is everything in order to fully appreciate the sound of a fine 17th century
string instrument. When a string quartet plays unisons or octaves, one must
be able to hear each instrument. This all happens naturally in the
Playhouse and is one important reason for attending our concerts."
