Jim Thorpe Senior High School Auditorium - Jim Thorpe, PA
This auditorium was built within the frame of the old school gymnasium. The acoustical challenge of a long and wide space with a peaked roof is being met with a system of overhead and side reflectors, sound diffusing panels, and strict noise control. Like many such projects, this high school auditorium also functions as the local performing arts center.

"Our new auditorium is simply breath taking. Pictures would not do it
justice and my words are only a mere glimpse. It is something one has to
see and hear in person to get the true experience. The soft voice of a
young soprano can be heard in the back row. The loudest tenor can sing at
full volume without hearing nasty echoes. Our small concert band sounds
full and warm, whereas our jazz band rocks the house. The audience has an
unobstructed view of the action on stage from every seat in the house.
This auditorium has become "The Place To Be" for any big event in the
area. In the past year and a half of operation, we have hosted everything
from a small kiddy musical to a large high school play. We have even hosted
a public tax forum for the county commissioners. The whole community packs
the house at nearly every event. The new auditorium has become a real boost
for community togetherness. We never had anything like this before and I am
grateful the community spared no expense in its design. We are now able to
reap its benefits."
